Are Online advertisers being robbed blind

Many websites are taking advantage of problems with older web browsers and older not updated mobile devices to crash the browsers with multiple popups and layers that cause the articles to be obscured and sometimes out right crash forcing people interested in reading the article to visit the page many times to read it between crashes.
Some users have reported they have used their systems screen capture feature to quickly grab the information to read in their picture managers without having to deal with the crash. One person questioned about the issue said he will sometimes visit a site three times to get enough to read offline but says that's a bargain compared to putting up with the actual site loading and crashing.
Meanwhile advertisers are paying the site for many visits by sometimes just one person trying to read the article.
