Katrina Kaif, Janhvi Kapoor to Kiara Advani: Here are the Best & Worst dressed stars at Diwali parties

It is that time of the year when multiple stars host Diwali parties and much to our delight, we have been seeing several Bollywood actors rolling down, putting their best fashion foot forward. Having said that, just recently, two Diwali bashes were hosted – one by Indian film producer Amritpal Singh Bindra and the other one was producer Krishna Kumar. With this, Bollywood actors like Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, Ananya Panday, Shehnaaz Gill, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan have upped their fashion games for Diwali parties.

Though some have aced in their ethnic game, some were duds at the Diwali parties. Speaking of which, we have made a list of the best and worst-dressed actors who were seen at this Diwali party. So take cues from these actors on what to and what not to wear this Diwali festival party.

For the Diwali bash, the Tiger 3 actor wore an embellished sheer black saree with a bedazzled black blouse. Keeping it elegant, Katrina picked dazzling earrings and bangles. She even opted for dewy makeup, smoky eyes and soft pink lipstick for the event. As usual, Katrina looks ethereal.

Kiara Advani:

Never thought velvet will look this beautiful and regal, all thanks to the Shershaah actor who picked a stunning navy-blue velvet lehenga for Amritpal Singh’s Diwali party. Keeping it very real and subtle, Kiara chose dewy makeup and picked only a heavy choker to round her look. We absolutely love the subtle charm.

Ananya Panday:

Ananya looked beautiful when she picked a bright red lightly embellished saree that she paired with the matching bustier blouse. Opting for minimal makeup and soft curls, Ananya has definitely made it to the best-dressed actors’ list.

Janhvi Kapoor:

Just like her movie choices, Janhvi is also picking sartorial choices when it comes to fashion. If you go through her previous Diwali fashion, this time, Janhvi picked a subdued version of it. She was seen dazzling in a silver sequin saree that she paired with a sleeveless blouse, enhancing her assets. Opting for a bronze makeup undertone and only silver earrings, Janhvi looked sizzling.

Vicky Kaushal:

Our Punjabi Munda Vicky looks suave and handsome. He picked a bandhani print black kurta with zari work on the chest. Rolling up his sleeves, the Sardar Udham actor is surely making us fall for him even more.

Bhumi Pednekar:

Bhumi looked nothing less than a dream. We really liked the off-white lehenga that she picked for the Diwali party. Unlike her previous look that gave out a lot of Banjara vibes, Bhumi oozed beauty this time. Letting her lehenga do all the talking, the Durgamati actor opted for dewy makeup, simple hair and a diamond-emerald choker. We totally liked it.

Bhumi Pednekar

Shilpa Shetty:

Shilpa is one of those actresses who always steals everyone’s attention with her impeccable fashion game. For her own house’s Diwali party, Shilpa picked a pink sequin saree with an equally bedazzled blouse. Keeping her hair in soft curls and rounding her look with a statement necklace, Shilpa looks beautiful.

Shilpa Shetty

WORST-DRESSED STARS:

Kartik Aaryan:

One might say that guys don’t have many options in ethnic which is true but it is all about how one style it with limited resources. Similarly, Kartik’s latest outing didn’t impress us all. Wearing a blush pink kurta and white pyjama, Kartik posed for the paps.

Kartik Aaryan

Rakul Preet Singh:

Rakul picked a gold outfit for the party and sadly, she didn’t look golden. Everything about the look seemed off and hence, we can’t describe what really went wrong here.

Rakul Preet Singh

Nysa Devgan:

Nysa is another internet sensation who often becomes the talk of the town due to her fashion game. Much to everyone’s dismay, Nysa’s turquoise lehenga was a dud to us.

Nysa Devgan

Shehnaaz Gill:

Over the years, Shehnaaz is trying hard to transform her fashion game as well, just as her weight loss transformation journey. And during the course, she has proved to be at the top of her game. However, at this Diwali party, the Bigg Boss 13 star seemed quite basic. Right from the colour of the lehenga to her glow, nothing fitted properly. Apart from her stylish statement necklace, Shehnaaz didn’t offer anything new.

Sara Ali Khan:

Surprisingly, Sara Ali Khan’s look at the Diwali party was quite off-putting. Be it her choice of lehenga to her styling, Sara surely didn’t style according to the festival vibes. She looked pretty dull and vague on her recent outing.

I certainly hope so https://t.co/Oft76ck3PP

What happened to a father and son at the hands of those policemen is wrong at every human level and every single person irrespective of place of origin or political belief needs to stand up for them. It is plain horrific and wrong. DEMAND action. #JusticeforJayarajAndFenix

'Sexy is personality, not just colour of your skin': Bipasha Basu pens about being tagged as 'dusky' beauty

Bipasha started by writing, "From the time I was growing up I heard this always, "Bonnie is darker than Soni. She is a little dusky na?" Even though my mother is a dusky beauty and I look a lot like her. I never knew why that would be a discussion by distant relatives when I was a kid. Soon at 15/16 I started modelling and then I won the supermodel contest... all newspapers read... a dusky girl from Kolkata is the winner. I wondered again why Dusky is my first adjective??? Then I went to New York and Paris to work as a model and I realised my skin colour was exotic there and I got more work and attention because of it. Another discovery of mine."
The Corporate actor further wrote about how the adjective 'dusky' stuck with her even when she started doing movies in Hindi. Bipasha went on to say, "Once I came back into India and film offers started... and finally I did my first film and from an absolute Ajnabee to Hindi film industry... I suddenly was accepted and loved. But the adjective stayed which I started liking and loving by then. DUSKY girl wows the audiences in her debut film. In most of my articles for all the work I did, my duskiness seemed to be the main discussion... it attributed to my sex appeal. And sexy in Bollywood started getting accepted widely. I never really understood this... To me, sexy is the personality, not just the colour of your skin... why my skin colour only sets me apart from the conventional actresses at that time. But that's the way it was. I didn't see much of difference but I guess people did. There was a strong mindset of Beauty and how an actress should look and behave. I was DIFFERENT as it was pointed out. Didn't stop me from being and doing all that I loved."

Well you see I was confident and proud of who I was from childhood. My skin colour didn’t define me ... even though I love it and wouldn’t want it to be any different ever.
Many skin care endorsements with loads of money was offered to me in the last 18 years ( some were very tempting)... but I stuck to my principle always.
All this needs to stop. This wrong dream that we are selling ... that only fair is lovely and beautiful when the majority of the country is brown skinned. It’s a deep rooted stigma.
It’s a mammoth step from the brand... and other brands should follow in the same footsteps soon🙏

The minute Aamir and I would get the shortest of breaks, we’d run off the closest roller-coaster and ask them to put it on just for us. What a luxury! Good times,” Abhishek added.

‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’: The first look of Amit Sadh hints at a new twist in the crime thriller

Actor Amit Sadh, who was lauded for his stellar performance in the first chapter of the series, reprises his role as inspector Kabir Sawant. The psychological crime thriller will also see Abhishek Bachchan.

Amazon Prime Video elevates the excitement level by releasing today Amit Sadh’s first look in the upcoming all-new Amazon Original Series ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’.

The actor is seen mysteriously landing up in jail, raising curiosity amongst the viewers. Why is he in prison? Was it a faux play of power and deceit or did he seriously commit a crime so grave that put him behind the bars? While we don’t know the reason behind this new twist, it certainly adds an interesting layer to the mystery of this much-awaited crime thriller.

‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ marks the digital debut of Abhishek Bachchan and Nithya Menen, who will be seen in the lead roles, along with Saiyami Kher. The show is slated to release on July 10, 2020, on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories.

This new story has become even more special with Abhishek and Nithya joining in and together, we can’t wait to take you back to the world of ‘Breathe. This time, Into The Shadows’.”

Akshay Kumar has a MAJOR fallout with ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ producer; film to release on digital platform now?

Akshay Kumar is a no-nonsense man. He prefers calling a spade a spade, but when it comes to matters of the government and their functioning, he’s extremely touchy. Also because of his leniency towards the government, sometimes Akshay’s judgments do get clouded by several thoughts. Now, one such incident has caused a huge rift in his two-decade-long friendship with Shabina Khan.

Shabina and Akshay have teamed up for ‘Laxmmi Bomb‘ which was supposed to release this Eid, alongside Salman Khan’s ‘Radhe’. But it’s unlikely for the film to hit the marquee on that day, since all theatres are shut and will continue to remain so, for the next few months until there’s normalcy again. We hear that despite shooting the film with a lot of fun and happiness, all things aren’t well between Shabina and Akki. The two buddies are now upset about each other’s political allegiances.

While Akki is a right-wing nationalist, Shabina detests the current government and is known to be extremely vocal about her opinions. She had been constantly tweeting and expressing her displeasure over the government’s failure at handling the Covid-19 situation in the country. That left Akshay fuming because he felt that all this will have a domino effect on his next release and given his business acumen, he immediately called her up and fired her. The situation between them became so tense that everyone else was worried about the fate of ‘Laxmmi Bomb’.

Despite the frantic calls, her tweets didn’t stop and Akshay made a final Warning to her and told her that he won’t be part of promotions or have anything to do with the project anymore. Such is luck that now, the film will directly release on Hotstar and the makers have already sold the film to the OTT platform.

We hear that despite Akshay being a huge star, the initial conversations with STAR had begun without his approval or consent. Eventually, he gave up and told his close friends that he’s got nothing to do with the film anymore. Their friendship of over two decades stand at its tumultuous worst and what is worrying is that the other producer of the film, Tusshar Kapoor, has been caught in between his two friends. Everyone’s trying to calm each other down but to no avail. Especially, Shabina is known to be fierce and highly opinionated about her choices and she’s extremely clear that she won’t be tomtoming about the government just because of her superstar friend’s loyalty towards it. A source shares, “Shabina told a common friend that if that’s the logic and condition of friendship, Akshay and Twinkle shouldn’t have even stayed together because they have different viewpoints on politics as well.”

While ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ is apparently being released on Hotstar now, what stands cancelled is their next venture together which they had agreed on. Akshay and Shabina had become even closer buddies during ‘ROWDY RATHORE‘ and they were already planning a sequel. The source further adds, “That definitely doesn’t seem like happening at all now. Unless Sanjay Leela Bhansali cuts off ties with Shabina on the film and flies solo with Akshay, ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’ will not take off. In case, they patch up, then it again might. Akshay is also upset because before he signed ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, which happens to be the remake of ‘Kanchana’, the producer had approached other actors including Ajay Devgn who clearly declined the project because they didn’t want to play a transgender and wear a sari in the film. Akshay had stepped in and elevated the film and given it a different status for Shabina and he’s extremely miffed with her right now.”

Govinda-Manisha Koirala’s ‘Maharaja’ producer Naraindas Mukhija passes away

Naraindas Mukhija, who produced the hit movie ‘Maharaja’ passed away. ‘Maharaja’ starred Govinda and Manisha Koirala. He was a very well known producer and distributor in Bollywood. This year has been a very gloomy year for Bollywood as we are just losing one important personality after another in the fraternity.

Film critic and analyst, Taran Adarsh, took to his Twitter handle and broke the news online, he wrote, “RIP #NaraindasMukhija ji… Well known distributor and prominent financier… Had produced #Maharaja [starring #Govinda and #ManishaKoirala, directed by #AnilSharma]… Om Shanti.”

— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 23, 2020

The reason for his death is unclear and nothing has been confirmed on that yet.

It has been a hard blow to Bollywood after the deaths of Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, also Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death and multiple other celebrities. These losses have created a dark atmosphere in the nation and the industry.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Naraindas’ family. May his soul rest in peace.

'Baahubali' scribe in talks to write Aamir Khan's 'Mahabharat'

Veteran writer K V Vijayendra Prasad says he is in early discussions to pen the script for Aamir Khan's "Mahabharat" adaptation. Aamir has been planning a film series on the epic mythological tale for quite some time.

Prasad is best known for working as a writer on his son, SS Rajamouli's blockbuster "Baahubali" series, as well as movies like "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi".

"The dialogue has started between me and Mr Aamir Khan regarding 'Mahabharat'. We will begin work on the script. It is too premature to talk anything in detail about the project," Prasad told PTI.

The 78-year-old writer said during the lockdown he has penned a few stories.

"Writing is my passion and I kept on writing but it is too early to reveal anything. My next project to come out is ‘RRR’," he said.

"RRR" features top Telugu stars Ram Charan and Junior NTR, besides Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles.

The film is scheduled to be released worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, next year in January.

Madhurima Tuli reacts on the controversy surrounding Ekta Kapoor’s ‘XXX: Uncensored 2’

ALT Balaji head honcho Ekta Kapoor got embroiled into controversy for her web series ‘XXX: Uncensored 2’. It was pointed out by Hindustani Bhau that Ekta has disrespected Indian Army with alleged obscenity in the show. In her recent panel discussion with Shobha De, Malini Agrawal, Gul Panag and Gurdeep Kohli, Ekta clarified that the moment she came to know that she had unintentionally hurt the sentiments of the Indian army, she pulled down the scene from the show. Ekta also said that people gave rape threats to her 71-year-old mother and she was shocked to see such kind of cyberbullying.

Many were in support of Ekta while some were against her. During an Instagram live session with Madhurima Tuli, we asked her views on the entire controversy. To which Madhurima said, “Honestly, it’s very sad actually. You can’t do cyberbullying. Rape threats and all, I’m completely against it. If anyone has a problem, you can just say ‘remove it’ or ask to apologise to people.”

On fake news and hate trolls, she further said, “It’s really sad when haters spread fake news and they really need to get a life. You are troubling other person’s peace of mind and you should understand what that person is going through. You cannot bully someone and it’s really wrong on your part and that means you have some mental disorder. And I would say that whoever does this, there should be some technique where they get instantly blocked. Hate trolls and all, I am totally against it.”

On the work front, Madhurima will be seen in a web series based on the surgical strike in Pakistan. She is playing a journalist.
