Chandrachur Singh is making his comeback with Ram Madhvani’s ‘Aarya’ that also has Sushmita Sen
opposite him. The actor had a virtual meet with us where he spoke about
his comeback project, lockdown period and a lot more about his career.
When asked what kept him busy all these years before his comeback, he said, “I
was engaged in my personal responsibilities. Then I got this wonderful
opportunity that Ram gave me. I felt it right and it feels great to work
with a maker of his calibre. And also, Sushmita and I got a chance to
work together and that was wonderful.”
“People
have been waiting for Sushmita’s comeback and all credit to her. She
deserves it. It is a joy to work with the entire team like from the
style of acting to the acting workshops. I met so many of my old
acquaintances with whom I was not in touch for like 25-30 years. That
was a lovely feeling to meet someone from the past and you have present
memories to share,” he added.
On the current craft and technology, the actor said, “We
have done workshops which is a recent development and it is really
helpful for actors to break the ice. We can familiarise with the soul of
the characters.”
On asked how ‘Aarya’ came to him, Chandrachur said, “I
was in Dehradun for my son’s entrance examination. Then I was
approached by Ram’s team and there was a scene I had to audition for and
send across to Ram. He was quite clear that he wanted me and after
seeing it, he decided to take me for the project.”
‘Aarya’ will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from June 19.
