OnePlus Buds Z leaks online before the October 14 launch event

 While OnePlus confirmed the launch of OnePlus 8T in October, several reports suggest that the company will be launching two more devices by the end of the month. Similarly, OnePlus is expected to launch a couple of accessories as well. One of them is the OnePlus Buds Z, whose details have already leaked on the internet. Design

Thanks to an XDA Senior Member that goes by the username of Some_Random_Username, we now know how the upcoming OnePlus Buds Z will look like. According to XDA Developers, all the renders were extracted from an API that was shared by a trustable source.

As revealed by the renders, it looks strikingly similar to the OnePlus Buds that was launched earlier this year. However, the upcoming Buds Z will come with silicone ear tips. Other than that, we are looking at a similar stem design inspired by Apple’s AirPods lineup.

The charging case of the Buds Z resembles that of Samsung Galaxy Buds and Buds+. It features an LED indicator on the front just below the lid. Opposite to it, OnePlus has included a USB Type-C charging port and a button. OnePlus has also stamped its logo on the lid of the case. The Buds Z is expected to be available in three color options – Blue, Black, and White.

Features and other specs

OnePlus has not confirmed much about the specs and features of the Buds Z, except for the IP55 certification against dust and water. The new buds will weigh around 4.35 grams. The rest of our knowledge about the specs of the Buds Z comes from Ishan Agarwal. According to him, the upcoming Buds from OnePlus will come with 10mm drivers which is smaller than the 13.4mm one in the original Buds. The earbuds will also support Dirac Audio Tuner and Dolby Atmos. The Buds Z will support wireless transmission via Bluetooth 5.0 connection and will be compatible with both Android and iOS devices. Each earbud will have dual microphones.

While the exact size of the battery is still a mystery, the Buds Z is said to offer up to 5 hours of music playback on a single charge. With the charging case, it can offer up to 15 hours of playback time. The earbuds will also support fast charging. A 10-minute charge will be able to fill the earbuds with juice that can last up to 3 hours of playback.
