WhatsApp starts digital payment system for users in Brazil

Facebook-owned WhatsApp is now no more restricted to just chatting or sharing images, videos but the App will now also provide a digital payment facility. Whatsapp on Monday (June 16, 2020) has digital payments to WhatsApp users in Brazil.

In its statement, Whatsaap said, '' We’re excited to announce that starting today we’re bringing digital payments to WhatsApp users in Brazil. People will be able to send money securely or make a purchase from a local business without leaving their chat.''

Whatsapp further said that Brazil has over 10 million small and micro businesses amid its communities and it’s become second nature to send a zap to a business to get questions answered.

Announcing the launch of the new feature, Whatsapp said, now in addition to viewing a store’s catalog, customers will be able to send payments for products as well.

Whatsapp believes that making payments simple can help bring more businesses into the digital economy, opening up new opportunities for growth.

The new feature will have a special six-digit PIN or fingerprint to complete the payment process in order to avoid any unauthorized transactions. In the beginning, Whatsapp will support debit or credit cards from Banco do Brasil, Nubank, and Sicredi on the Visa and Mastercard networks -and we are working with Cielo, the leading payments processor in Brazil.

However, the payment feature on WhatsApp is enabled by Facebook Pay, with the objective to make it possible for people and businesses to use the same card information across Facebook's family of apps.

Whatsapp further also said that they have built an open model to welcome more partners in the future.

The social media company has also tried to make the app user friendly and easy-to-do transaction, Whatsapp said, ''we’re making sending money to loved ones as easy as sending a message, which could not be more important as people are physically distant from one another.''

Whatsaap was working on the idea of digital payment since 2018 as it has launched a closed beta in India in 2018.

'Sexy is personality, not just colour of your skin': Bipasha Basu pens about being tagged as 'dusky' beauty

Bipasha started by writing, "From the time I was growing up I heard this always, "Bonnie is darker than Soni. She is a little dusky na?" Even though my mother is a dusky beauty and I look a lot like her. I never knew why that would be a discussion by distant relatives when I was a kid. Soon at 15/16 I started modelling and then I won the supermodel contest... all newspapers read... a dusky girl from Kolkata is the winner. I wondered again why Dusky is my first adjective??? Then I went to New York and Paris to work as a model and I realised my skin colour was exotic there and I got more work and attention because of it. Another discovery of mine."
The Corporate actor further wrote about how the adjective 'dusky' stuck with her even when she started doing movies in Hindi. Bipasha went on to say, "Once I came back into India and film offers started... and finally I did my first film and from an absolute Ajnabee to Hindi film industry... I suddenly was accepted and loved. But the adjective stayed which I started liking and loving by then. DUSKY girl wows the audiences in her debut film. In most of my articles for all the work I did, my duskiness seemed to be the main discussion... it attributed to my sex appeal. And sexy in Bollywood started getting accepted widely. I never really understood this... To me, sexy is the personality, not just the colour of your skin... why my skin colour only sets me apart from the conventional actresses at that time. But that's the way it was. I didn't see much of difference but I guess people did. There was a strong mindset of Beauty and how an actress should look and behave. I was DIFFERENT as it was pointed out. Didn't stop me from being and doing all that I loved."

Well you see I was confident and proud of who I was from childhood. My skin colour didn’t define me ... even though I love it and wouldn’t want it to be any different ever.
Many skin care endorsements with loads of money was offered to me in the last 18 years ( some were very tempting)... but I stuck to my principle always.
All this needs to stop. This wrong dream that we are selling ... that only fair is lovely and beautiful when the majority of the country is brown skinned. It’s a deep rooted stigma.
It’s a mammoth step from the brand... and other brands should follow in the same footsteps soon🙏

Abhishek Bachchan Has THIS Request For Aamir Khan & We WISH He Answers!

Actor Abhishek Bachchan has a special request to his “Dhoom 3” co-star Aamir Khan. He says he would like to be directed by the latter one day.

“‘Dhoom’ gave me the once in a lifetime opportunity to work with @_aamirkhan and if given another opportunity I wouldn’t act with him, I want to be directed by him!!! So Aamir, if you’re reading this, kindly consider my request,” Abhishek posted on Instagram.

He also recalled shooting with him during “Dhoom 3”.

Abhishek Bachchan also said, “Aamir was so warm and forthcoming as a co-actor. Very helpful and accommodating. I can only imagine what a wonderful director he must be. Apart from his great talent he is so down to earth and fun-loving on set despite what scene we would do.”

“One of my fondest memories was when we shot a few scenes in Six Flags amusement park in Chicago. The park was shut and it was just the unit that was allowed in. The minute Aamir and I would get the shortest of breaks, we’d run off the closest roller-coaster and ask them to put it on just for us. What a luxury! Good times,” Abhishek added.

Released in 2013, “Dhoom 3” was helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. It also featured Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra. What do you think about the idea of Aamir Khan directing a film and Abhishek Bachchan acting in it? Do let us know in the comments section below.
