Honor had a massive announcement party a rainbow of products today, and a new Honor Pad 8 was among them. The new slate is a follow-up to last year’s Pad V7 and comes with a huge 12-inch display, a Qualcomm chipset and an optional keyboard attachment.
The Pad 8 screen is an IPS LCD with 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution. There are tiny bezels from all sides, with the top one having a 5 MP camera mounted on it. There is another 5MP shooter on the back.
The chipset here is a Snapdragon 680, while RAM is either 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB. All three options come with 128 GB of internal storage. Although Honor does not say anything about a micro SD slot, we can sadly assume there is none.
The Pad 8 is a device for multimedia entertainment, and Magic UI 6.1 brings split screen support for over 6,000 apps. There are also widgets, floating windows, and the capability to link the tablet to select Honor smartphones.
The Honor Pad 8 weighs just 520 grams with a nice thin body of 6.9 mm. The USB-C port is on the bottom, which is used to charge the 7,250 mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging.
Honor offers the Pad 8 in three colors - White, Blue, and Mint Green. The price begins from CNY1,499 ($220), but early birds can get it for CNY1,399 ($207).
